Thank you to all the volunteers who have been leading and assisting in Sunday School since September. Your work is much appreciated! At this time, we do not have a leader to organize the volunteers to fill the roster to lead, and therefore do not expect to be able to offer Sunday School until further notice, unless we advise otherwise.

Pipe Organ – Cleaning and Servicing
Typically pipe organs need to be cleaned every 20-30 years. Annesley has owned the organ since 1991 and it was 100 years old last year. The organ is overdue for cleaning and servicing. We have received an estimated quote of $18,000 dollars plus taxes to complete this work, which would take three weeks. This is a very large expense and we need to hear from the congregation as to whether we should go ahead with this work or not. We welcome your thoughts and fundraising ideas to cover the costs and please share these with Brenda Dimoff, Dale Beare or any Board member before the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on March 16th. A vote will be taken at the AGM as to whether the congregation supports this expense.
A question to consider: How important is the preservation of this historical musical instrument to Annesley and the community at large?

In the Library

The Great Emergence by Phyllis Tickle.
Rooted in the observation that massive transitions in the church happen about every 500 years, Phyllis Tickle shows readers that we live in such a time right now. She compares the Great Emergence to other “Greats” in the history of Christianity, including the Great Transformation (when God walked among us), Anyone who is interested in the future of the church in Canada, no matter what their personal affiliation, will find this book a fascinating exploration.
