Bluegrass in Five: Granite Hill in Concert Sept. 12th – 7:00 p.m.

Bluegrass is alive and well, and tapping its toes, as Middle Grey  presents The Granite Hill Bluegrass Band. Five very experienced, always busy, and popular musicians for the delight of our Middle Grey audience. Meet Al Draper, the passionate and nationally recognized lead bluegrass voice and guitarist, Doug McNaughton, the Master fiddle teacher, Norm Tellier, the tenor vocalist, and twice recipient of the Central Canada Bluegrass Award as Mandolin Player of the YearNeil Cudney, upright bassist, and vocals, who is rumoured to embody Granite Hill’s energy and spirit, and Steve Greer, a 40 year veteran of performing and recording, who contributes his 5-string banjo and baritone vocals. Thank You

A HUGE thank you to Brenda Dimoff for preparing, leading, AND providing the music for last Sunday’s picnic service at LutheRanch. Thank you to all who assisted and attended. It was an enjoyable time, with delicious food and great company.  Thank you also to the residents and board of LutheRanch for allowing us to worship in their beautiful shelter.   

Speakers Series At Annesley September 18th – 7:00 p.m.

The Friends of the Museum present “John Muir: The Historic Environmentalist in Grey County” on Thursday, Sept. 17th at Annesley.   Robert Burcher, photographer, writer and historical researcher will be speaking about John Muir, considered to be the 1st American environmentalist. Admission by Free will donation.   Coffee & tea will be available.

Take Out BBQ Chicken Dinner: October 22nd

The delicious and always popular Take out BBQ Chicken Dinner will be held on October 22nd, 2025. is taking place on October 22nd from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.  For $25.00, you get a delicious ½ chicken cooked over charcoal, baked potato with condiments, coleslaw, bun and dessert.  Tickets are now available at the church office, Murray’s Print Shop, or from Dave Armstrong. Deliveries are available; just ask when you buy your ticket.

Sunday School

Sunday School is starting this week (September 14th). We need: PEOPLE, Sticky Tack, Washable markers, Permanent black markers, and Glue sticks for an 8mm Hot Glue Gun. PEOPLE are most needed, but everything on the list would be appreciated.

Do You Like to Sing??

The Community Christmas Choir is looking for more singers, especially male voices.
Practices are held on Monday evenings from 7-9pm at Annesley United Church, Markdale

Online Auction September 25th

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are delaying our Online Auction that was scheduled for September 25th. It will be held in the spring, likely in late April. We will accept donated items throughout the winter into the lower level, or you can hang onto them and we will have a time in advance of the auction that we will be accepting items.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

Sunday Worship at Annesley the Autumn

Come and worship with us each Sunday morning at 10:30, whether in person or on YouTube. We have 2 ordained ministers and 4 Lay Worship Leaders leading our services this fall, and into 2026.  Special dates to remember are: Communion on October 5 and December 21, and our Christmas Eve service at 7 pm on December 24.  Join with your Annesley family, as together we navigate life, supported and guided by God, Christ and the Spirit.

Coffee Break

There is a signup sheet in the Narthex for Coffee Hour – We are looking for people to  prepare coffee and put out the treats – they are all provided by Annesley, so only your time is needed.  You can scale it down to 1 coffee hour just before or just after the service (instead of both) to make things easier –it is your choice. Thank you to anyone who can do this.

Knit Wits next meet September 22nd

The Knit Wits meet the 2nd and 4th Monday afternoons each month from 1:30 to 3:30 in the church parlour. Most of our knitting is done from yarn donated to the church and we thank you for that. All are invited to join us for a lovely afternoon of knitting and socialization.

South East Grey Community Health Centre  

The Southeast Grey Community Health Centre  The South East Grey Community Health Centre would be happy to receive any reusable shopping bags to repurpose in the Community Pantry. Donated items such as unused toiletries, good condition bath towels, kitchen towels, bedding, socks, summer shoes and men’s pants or shorts are all appreciated.  Donations can be dropped off to reception Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm.

She compares the Great Emergence to other “Greats” in the history of Christianity, including the Great Transformation (when God walked among us), Anyone who is interested in the future of the church in Canada, no matter what their personal affiliation, will find this book a fascinating exploration.

Home At Last (HAL)

HAL is a FREE settling in service to help people who have been in hospital to discharge home. The goal of the program is to facilitate an earlier discharge or unnecessary re-admission to hospital by providing transitional support services and links to community support services wen needed. FOr more information, contact the VON Grey Bruce Office at 519-376-5895/1-800-265-3138 Extension 402 Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Brenda & Peter Dimoff: CDs available due to popular demand

We have all been enjoying the music of Brenda and Peter Dimoff during the Sunday services. Many people have asked where they can get a copy of their CD, so Brenda and Peter have graciously responded by producing copies of the CD, as a fund raiser for Annesley!  For a donation of $20 or more to Annesley, you receive a copy of this wonderful CD.  They will be available each Sunday, or at the office during the week. 

Grey County Cares

Support our Ukrainian refugees in Grey County by buying a button for $10 or more – donations go directly to Ukrainian refugees in Grey County. Sponsored by the Rotary Club.  Buttons are in the office.

Prayer Shawl Ministry 

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is an important part of Annesley’s outreach. Warm and cozy shawls are given to those of the congregation and community who are bereaved or seriously ill. The appropriate yarn must be purchased. If you would like to help, put your donation in an envelope marked Prayer Shawl and your name and send it to the church office. If you know anyone in the community who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, please call the office at 519-986-3019
