2nd July 2021 Announcements

Service Recordings

We will be taking a break for a couple of weeks after the July 11th service, as we are making plans to reopen and are working on obtaining equipment to livestream the services as they happen, for the people who will still be watching the services from home.

A summer newsletter is being planned.  Please submit anything that you would like to have included.

The Annual General Meeting

The Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  We will be using the meeting to test seating and traffic flow for eventual in-church services. The Annual Report is ready and digital copies were sent out, but you can click the link below for a copy. Let us know if you want a paper copy, and one will be provided to you.

Harriston Meat Packers fundraiser

Thank you to all who organized, volunteered and or supported the first ever Harriston Packers Meat Sale Fundraiser. Approximately 75 households received an order, along with their Chapman’s Ice Cream coupon. Over $2,100 was raised in total!  Pickup day turned fine, so both volunteers and buyers were able to enjoy some overdue and safe visiting. As well, a good logistical foundation was laid for both this event and others like it in the future. We are giving some thought to another event later this year.  So thank you again to everyone, and special thanks to Gracie and Kadyn Den Haan, our youngest volunteers, who brought with them their very own special sunshine.

In the Library – New Library DVDs

Do you need some light summer entertainment filled with slightly biblical, yet insightful fun?  Ted Swartz is a playwright and actor who has been mucking around in the worlds of the sacred and profane for over 20 years. The church library has acquired 5 DVDs of Ted Swartz & Company. Each one provides a unique perspective on the relationship between God and his difficult, obstinate, but still chosen people. Why not give one of these or all a try?

  • Creation, Chaos & Covenant
  • Deliverance, Dysfunction & Destiny
  • Dove tale – How the First Christmas Finally Came Together
  • Fisheyes – Hilarious & Human: the Gospel in the eyes of Peter & Andrew
  • Advents Acts & Apocalypse

Available at the church office. Our library is a valuable resource. Keep it viable by using it.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is an important part of Annesley’s outreach. Warm and cozy shawls are given to those of the congregation and community who are bereaved or seriously ill. The appropriate yarn must be purchased. If you would like to help, put your donation in an envelope marked Prayer Shawl and your name and send it to the church office. If you know anyone in the community who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, please contact Jean at 519-986-2702

Centering Prayer

You are invited to join with the individuals of the Centering Prayer Group on Monday afternoons at 2 P.M. There are no rules. There is no need for preparation. And no signup is required. Only a willingness to rest in a time of quiet, that is shared with others. While we miss meeting in person during these dark times, we welcome everyone in a warm invitation to join us “in the spirit”.

Reusable Cloth Masks

Nancy Edwards has sewn and provided several reusable (washable) masks, to be given to anyone who needs a mask. There are two sizes: Adult (14+), and  Children’s  (4-12).  If  you need masks, you are welcome to come to the church office to get them.  She also has a pattern and some elastic available, if anyone is interested in sewing some.  Thank you, Nancy!       *NOTE :  If you got your mask at Annesley and you want to convert it into a 3-layer mask, there is an opening in the seam on the inside of the mask. You can insert an extra piece of cloth or coffee filter. Remove the coffee filter before washing and replace with a new one.
